PCGamer, MusicRadar, TechRadar, BikeRadar & Showdown!

Busy times have become to be good friends recently, with so many projects, not enough time & caffine fulled, overpaid senior publishers demanding 100% attention, 100% of the time. That is the life of a Digital Creative and UI Developer at Future Publishing. Sad but true.

I have been spending the last 4 weeks solid scoping, designing & building a new PCGamer website, the PCGamer Readers Top 100 games. A site that will allow users to register and submit their top 10 games on the PC, since the PC started pretty much. My number 1 is Canon Fodder! You know its awesome! But the idea behind this is good, at the end of the 2 month voting period we will have a great idea of the readers top 100 games of all time on PC. Very useful information to know! ;)

Another good thing to note, is that PCGamer are making a move back into eSports, after a lot of meetings, beers and conversations I have become their advisor on the subject, which is handy! So be prepared for a rather large eSports related project from us in the next few months.

Obviously while worknig on this PCGamer stuff, other projects have floated their way over to me for my opinions, design, building or usability. This time was the turn of MusicRadar, which after a somewhat disasterous launch back in december (from a design a build perspective) we were given the all clear to reskin the site to be slightly easier to use. What fun, pretty much the same process as polishing a turd. Yey! My favourite past time! The only reason we were able to do this was because of the hug success of the redesign of Bikeradar.com which I launched back in May. Very we recieved in time for Tour de France.

As well as these wonderful sites, I have been given design lead on Techradar.com which is a big deal. My decision is final on a site that is running very well, massive amounts of content, breaking tech news, visits all round the world etc.

That brings my design lead toll up to all Tech, Sports & Games titles at Future, these are our most successful titles of the interests we cover!

If anyone has read this far, I would frankly be amazed, so if you have, congratulations, you can have a free hug at i34!

Speaking of i34/M Festival, 4Kings will of course be there, I have submitted the designs and layouts for our area, which will consist of 10 PC's, a couple of plasma screens, unlimted copies of PCGamer, some bean bags and an endless amount of 4K & Packard Bell creative! Here we will be debuting our new team shirts. With a new sponsor. Back to creative, I am sorting out some 20 ft banners for our stand which should be interesting, not sure I want to see any 4K face that large! Maybe I'll stick to logo's only!

Well I will leave it at that for the moment.

Tara!
